Photoelectric sensors use a beam of light to detect the presence or absence of an object. This technology is an ideal alternative to inductive proximity sensors when you require long sensing distances or when the item you want to sense is non-metal. Our photoelectric sensors satisfy applications found in many industries, such as material handling, packaging, food processing, and transportation. For your specialized applications that require a non-standard connector or cable, we can customize the sensor connections.
Background Suppression Photoelectric Sensors
Our Background Suppression Photoelectric Sensors are designed for applications requiring the sensor to see a target very close to a reflective background. This background suppression is particularly effective when the target and background have similar reflectivity (for example, light returned to the sensor from the target is roughly equal to the light reflecting from the background) or when dark targets are to be sensed against a lighter, more reflective background.
Clear Object Detection Photoelectric Sensors
Our ClearSight™ clear object detection photoelectric sensors address the three biggest challenges to the sensor: contrast, shape variations and wet environments. Our sensors provide reliable detection of clear materials such as glass and plastic bottles or films.
Color and Contrast Photoelectric Sensors
We offer a variety of color and contrast photoelectric sensors. From true RGB color recognition sensors designed for industrial use to sensors to detect registration marks and a wide range of background colors, including difficult pastels, we make color/contrast sensors to meet your applications needs.
Fiber Optic Cables
Fiber optic cables are essentially light pipes that attach to a fiber optic sensor. Light emitted from the sensor travels through transparent fibers in the cables and emerges at the end of the fiber. The transmitted or reflected beam is carried back to the receiver through different fibers. Our fiber optic cables are ideal for sensing small objects and are mounted in locations that would be inaccessible to photoelectric sensors.
Fiber Optic Photoelectric Sensors
Our fiber optic sensors are suited for packaging applications that require detection of very small objects, parts verification in hard to reach areas, color mark registration, and more. Our sensors consist of a light amplifying unit and a fiber optic cable that you can install at the detection area allowing for remote sensitivity adjustment.
Optical Fork Photoelectric Sensors
Our optical fork photoelectric sensors are an easy-to-apply and cost-effective method for small part detection and counting in a wide range of industries. They eliminate the alignment and adjustment issues associated with other transmitted-beam sensing solutions. Select from plastic and metal models.
General Purpose Photoelectric Sensors
Our general purpose photoelectric sensors provide reliable operation. They meet the needs of most mainstream applications in many industries such as material handling, packaging, food processing, and transportation.
Label Sensors
Our label sensors are designed specifically to detect the leading or trailing edges of labels on a web. They use photoelectric or capacitive sensing technology to solve packaging/labeling applications that other sensors simply cannot.
Photoelectric Laser Sensors
Our laser sensors accurately detect small targets such as weld nuts and mounting clips. They have a much longer sensing range than sensors that use standard visible red or infrared light.
Light Arrays
Our light array sensors combine multiple emitter or receiver elements into a single housing to create a sensing field instead of a single sensing beam. Therefore, these sensors can detect targets over a wider area. This makes the arrays ideal for detecting oddly shaped parts, products with gaps or spaces, or inconsistently positioned targets, at a fraction of the cost of using multiple sensor pairs.
Miniature Photoelectric Sensors
These sensors are very small and slim, ideal for mounting in applications with limited mounting space. We offer a wide selection of miniature sensors ranging from the VisiSight™ sensors in an industry standard 20 mm depth enclosure to the ultra miniature 42KA with only a 3.5 mm depth.
Specialty Series
We offer a full line of specialty series photoelectric sensors that use multiple sensing technologies to solve your toughest applications.
